Biography Hans J. Willam

Hans has started his career in the international freight forwarding industry in 1974. His main focus has been Intercontinental Logistics,
incl. Airfreight and Ocean freight as well as Project/Heavy  Lift Transport and Supply Chain  Solutions. During his career Hans has  also
spent 3 years in Asia, 4 years in the USA and 2 years in France.

Hans held senior positions at

        -          Kuehne + Nagel - 20 years
         -          Danzas (today DHL) – 4 years
         -          REWICO Group – 3 years
         -          Geodis – 2 years 

In 1999 Hans founded his own consulting company in Hamburg (WCL). After building up the business and to further strengthen the global focus, the activities of WCL were merged with adi Consult GmbH on Jan 1, 2005. Until Dec 31, 2008 Hans served as one of the Managing Partners. In addition Hans was one of the Principle Partners of the adi Consult Group.

Effective Jan 1, 2009 Hans has reactivated his company (WCL – Worldwide Consultants in Logistics) in Hamburg. See company presentation at www.wcl.de.  

In addition Hans has founded a new global group of professionals: Global Logistics Experts (G.L.Experts). The new group will officially start its activities in April 2009. Initially the group will consist of approx. 10 members on 6 continents and will grow to approx. 30 members within 3 years. The new website (www.glexperts.com) will be alive as of April 2009 as well. 

Within WCL and G.L.Experts, Hans will continue to concentrate on Intercontinental Logistics and will cover

         -          Executive Search / Recruitment
           -          Mergers & Acquisitions
           -          Strategic Management Consulting (incl. Logistics Consulting Projects) 

Hans also held honorary positions as Chairman of the Maritime Committee of Freight Forward Europe as well as Member of the Board of the Hamburg Freight Forwarders Association (www.vhsp.de).
